Summary: a rare little bird, this is a very early #15 “Charles Lile” model with script signed blade, fingered walnut handle and brass hardware. This knife has a 4-1/2" tool steel blade, overall length is approximately 9”. The knife is in excellent / unused condition, there's a bit of clouding on the blade... tool steel will do that after 45 years! Some patina / tarnish on the brass furniture that will easily buff away, all original so I decided to leave “as is” and not clean it up. Comes with C.O.A. signed by Marilyn shown in the last photo.
The Lile shop stamped sheath accompanies the knife, condition is excellent or better with just a few small scuffs here and there.
9 photos for review – as shown, a black canvas carry case is included. This is a great price on an early fingered walnut Lile knife, one you can either use daily or tuck away for collection purposes. Jimmy hand carved these finger grooves himself, back in the day nothing was machined! I’ve never had another model 15 for sale, not sure how many exist but there can’t be many. Priced quite fairly – thanks and good luck.
