Summary: this is the “Day 8” Alamo Bowie made by Jimmy Lile. Rare as hens teeth, it’s an absolutely gorgeous Bowie knife made in 1986 to commemorate 150 years of Texas independence and the Battle of the Alamo.
This is a first issue knife, one of the numbered 13 made before the 188 second issue Bowie’s were made. I’ve had several of the non-numbered Alamo’s, this is the first of the 13 “day” Bowie’s I’ve ever seen. Super rare, I’m tickled pink just to offer it for sale.
As a bonus, the knife comes with a beautiful Forrest W. Bogg display case. It’s also in mint condition, notches on the back so the display can be hung on a wall.
15 photos for review – as shown, a canvas carry case, paperwork and COA signed by Marilyn all included. This is a great find, if you could own just one Lile Bowie knife for display or collection / investment purposes this would be a very good choice. Thanks and good luck.
