Summary: want rare and unusual? Here you go...

This is an early non-catalog Lile Cleaver with 6-7/8" blade (measured tip to guard), single brass guard, and black micarta handle scales held in place with two piece Loveless-style bolts. Script signed "Hand Made by James B. Lile", overall length is 12-3/8". This cleaver is in excellent condition with no signs of use and original edge, there are some handling / sheath marks on the blade that could probably be buffed out if so desired. A few light handling marks / scratches on the micarta slabs, all at the butt end of the handle. Overall, an easy 8 on a scale of 1 to 10.

The knife is paired to the original leather belt sheath with keeper strap. The knife was stored in the sheath at some point in the past, darkness at the throat and on the keeper strap. Overall excellent condition, you'll find the typical spots and scuffs on both sides that come from nearly 50 years of storage and handling.

8 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This is the first and only cleaver of Jimmy's that I've ever seen, perfect for hunting / heavy duty use. This could very well be a 1 or 2 or 3 of a kind, for sure it was never offered in any of the Lile catalogs. It's the perfect Lile for collection / investment purposes -- thanks and good luck.

Note: photo 9 of three early script-signed Lile Tomahawks that will be coming soon
