Summary: this is an early non-catalog Jimmy Lile hunter, might be a model 17 variation but I'm not quite sure. I scoured the early Lile catalogs for a knife with this blade grind, the closest thing I could come up with was the #17 Weaver. That said, this one's just a bit different on the top edge / tip grind and at the choil. Either way, it's a rather unique / very early Lile with a 4-1/4" Hand Made by James B. Lile script-signed blade, brass guard, and thick stag handle. The knife has never been used and has the original edge and blade finish, overall excellent+++ or better condition with just a few carbon spots on the blade (back side) and light wipe marks on the brass guard. Stag is perfect, no checks or cracks.

The knife is paired to an old shop-issue belt sheath with "17" stamping on the back. The sheath shows a fair amount of wear and handling, knife / sheath fit is perfect.

8 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This is an early / unused Lile knife, perfect to tuck away for collection / investment purposes. The sheath isn't pretty, but in my opinion the knife more than makes up for that. Check it out and judge for yourself, you're apt not to find another quite like it. Thanks and good luck.
