Summary: unused with original edges, a beautiful example of an early model Sly II. The bead blasted blade finish is all original with just a few very light rubs in the finish, one small dark spot up on one of the front side sawteeth that I’m not messing with. The knife has definitely not been used, it’s simply been sitting in the collector of the original purchaser for over 30 years. The bare hollow tube handle is original and in excellent condition -- the early black & white compass is original and functions properly.
The Johnson sheath is in excellent+++ condition with a few scuffs on both sides. The Johnson stamp is on the back, the original EZ Lap sharpener had some tarnish / verdigris on it but I was able to clean it up with good success.
Some of the elusive tri-weave cord wrap that was used on the early Lile First Blood knives and a few of the early Sly II’s. Not to be confused with the later double weave cord -- there’s enough here to wrap a couple of handles.
Letter from original purchaser who bought this knife directly from Jimmy in Houston, Tx. way back in 1986.
10 photos for review -- as shown, a black canvas carry case is included. All said and done, this is an exceptionally nice long-bladed EARLY Sly II that has never been used, one that has obviously been tucked out of harms way all it's life and handled sparingly. Priced to sell -- thanks and good luck.
