Summary: unused with original edges, an excellent example of an early model (mid 80's) Sly II. The bead blasted blade finish is in excellent shape, high probability that this is D2 steel as there are a few carbon spots on both sides of the blade. No scratches or anything like that, the knife has definitely not been used. This knife was originally sold with a bare handle, the green cord wrap is not original and was added by a previous owner. (can be removed, it's a clean job so I left it alone) The original early version compass is in the butt cap and functions properly, overall condition is easily excellent+++.

The original Johnson sheath is in excellent condition with a few scuffs / handling / storage marks here and there, all typical for a sheath this age. A bit of darkness on the front belt loop and around the sharpener tube, also normal. The Johnson shop stamp is on the back belt loop, the original EZ Lap sharpener had some tarnish / verdigris on it but cleaned up nicely. Johnson was making Sly II sheaths for Jimmy from the beginning, it and the early style compass help to date the knife.

11 photos for review -- as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. All said and done, this is an exceptionally nice long-bladed Sly II that has never been used, one that has obviously been tucked away most all it's life. A great knife to buy if a few carbon spots don't bother you, it's never been messed with and all original except for the handle wrap. Thanks and good luck.
