Summary: on consignment, an uber rare 1980's hollow handle survival knife made by Gene Baskett. Blade is near perfect, a few marks on the guard from sheath storage... otherwise mint. It's pretty much a "time capsule knife", the original handle wrap is near perfect and all the original survival gear still in the handle. (photo 6) The blade is 8" long, presumably some type of stainless like 440c. 1/4" stock, top and bottom of blade in front of the guard jimped / notched. Overall length is a hair under 13-1/2" including the butt cap, this is simply one hell of a rare survival knife.
The original Baker-made leather sheath with stone pouch is included – the knife / sheath fit is perfect. There's an unused white stone in the front pouch, condition is excellent with nothing but minor handling / knife storage marks.
8 photos for review – as shown, a black canvas carry case is included. This is only the 2nd or 3rd Gene Baskett hollow handle survival knife I've had for sale in the past 10 years, this one is head and shoulders above the others with respect to build and condition. It's perfect for any survival knife collection, outrageously nice if you've been looking for a hollow handle knife to use but can't justify the money for a Parrish or Lile. Check it out – thanks and good luck.
