Summary: this is a Life Support System Commando made by Jack Crain. This knife has a 5-7/8”bead blasted spear point blade with a false top edge, steel double guard with lashing points, hollow tube handle wrapped in black nylon cord, and a removable knurled butt cap. A very rare knife, this one is in excellent condition with a few light marks on the blade from sheath insertion and light handling marks on the guard, collar and butt cap. The cord wrapped handle looks great, no fraying.
The knife comes with a the original (and custom) black leather belt sheath with tabs that allow for horizontal carry. Very unique, the first of its kind I’ve seen paired with a Crain knife. The sheath is in excellent or better condition, nothing but light handling marks front and back.
Bonus: multi-colored 550 paracord survival bracelets. Made in the USA, easy to use / wear / carry, and unraveled gives you just about 14 feet of lifesaving cord that will look great wrapped around your wrist until you need it.
10 photos for review – as shown, a black canvas carry case is included. This is a solid buy on a Crain LSS Commando, earlier this year a similar knife sold on the AZCK website for $1595. This from a larger collection of Crain knives I purchased from the family of the original owner, a very rare knife and sheath priced to sell. Thanks and good luck.
