Summary: this is a very rare custom "Zahid Special" made by the late Phill Hartsfield, Sr. Phill made several variations of this knife, most had different blade lengths with varying handle scales. This knife has a 5-1/4" blade lightly jimped on top for thumb placement, and what appear to be ironwood scales with mosaic pins. It's a fabulous knife, wicked sharp. Overall length is 9-7/8", made from 3/16" stock with a non-tapering tang. This knife has never been used, easily excellent+++ or better with just a few light handling marks on the rear handle scale.
The riveted sheath is original to the knife, very well made and wrapped in some type of hide I'm not familiar with. (some type of buffalo hide, if I had to guess) The knife / sheath fit is tight, condition is excellent+++ to near mint.
6 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This knife is priced at least a couple hundred below value, if not more. I've seen a few Zahid Special's sell over the years, all have sold for well over 1k. Perfect for investment / collection purposes, the late Phill Sr's. knives are incredibly well made and simply gorgeous. Thanks and good luck.
