Summary: a neat Robert Parrish hunting knife, model unknown. I could not find this in any Parrish catalog, it's number 17 from 1988 so I'm assuming he made more than one of them. That said, first like it I've seen.
This knife has a 4" 440c blade and pinned black micarta handle scales. Made from 3/16" stock with an overall length of 8-3/4", top of the blade is notched on top for thumb placement. Robert's "RP" and date / serial number on the front ricasso, his location stamp on the back ricasso. This knife is in excellent condition, blade with original edge. There are a few small handling marks here and there, a few small scuffs on the upper / lower tang. Overall, an easy 8.5+ on a scale of 1 to 10.
The pouch sheath with the knife fits the knife like a glove but I can't say for sure if Robert made the sheath or not. That said, and based on fit, I'm pretty sure it's original to the knife. There is a stitched belt loop on the back side, the sheath is right-side carry. The number 7 is stamped next to the belt loop (someone colored it in, reason unknown), the sheath is in excellent condition with light handling marks on both sides.
7 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. What you see is what you get – a rare, unused Robert Parrish fixed blade knife under 500 bucks! Great for hunting / EDC, a perfect knife to tuck away for collection / investment purposes. Thanks and good luck.
