Summary: this is a vintage Ruana 17A skinner with square cut elk slabs and original sheath. A gorgeous knife over half a century old, square cuts like this under 1k are few and far between.

The blade is 6" long measured tip to center of guard, overall length is 10-3/8". Three pin elk scales, the knife is in excellent used condition. The blade has discolored and shows some wear / sharpening marks / dings on the top spine, quite normal for old Ru’s that have been put to work. The edge on this knife is shaving sharp, it’s most definitely ready for use. You'll find handling marks, etc. on the bolsters and butt end, all said and done an honest old knife in nice shape.

The early Ruana sheath appears original to the knife and is without the Ruana trademark. The sheath is in excellent condition with the expected handling marks on both sides, a few scuffs here and there but all things considered... quite nice.

10 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This is a GREAT price on a vintage Ruana square cut skinner, these old RU's are more than holding their own and are great investment pieces. This one's got some character... it's an awesome old knife. Thanks and good luck.
