Description

Summary: this is a Jimmy Lile Big 7 with a 3-3/4" script signed and script dated blade. Standard Big 7 drop point blade grind, brass guard, and wood scales with 2-piece Loveless-style bolts. It also has a brass lined thong hole and a tapering tang with red tang liners, overall length is 8-1/2". This knife is in unused condition with original edge, it’s friggin’ gorgeous! You'll find light handling marks and patina on the guard and 2-piece Loveless-style pins (very minor), the scales look new. (I think it’s stabilized walnut but don’t quote me)

The knife is paired with the original shop issue ambidextrous pouch sheath probably made by John Lamb. Slits on both sides of the sheath for right or left hand carry, it's an old sheath made long before they ever started stamping the Lile shop information on both sides. The knife / sheath fit is snug, the knife will not drop out if inserted in the sheath and then flipped upside-down. The sheath is in excellent condition with tight stitching, scuffs and handling marks on both sides.

7 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This is a sweet knife if you're looking for a classic Lile for collection purposes. Very rare to find an early Big 7 that Marilyn also dated... it's a very cool and collectible old knife and near identical match to the model 22 also for sale. Thanks and good luck.
