Summary: unused with original edges, an excellent example of an early model (mid 80's) Sly II. The bead blasted blade finish is damn near perfect, reminds me of my first Sly II that I ordered from Marilyn back in the early 80's. Simply gorgeous – the knife has definitely not been used. The green cord wrap is original and in nearly new condition -- the original early version compass is in the butt cap and functions properly. Overall excellent+++ or better condition, one of the nicest Sly II's I've had in quite some time.
The original Johnson sheath is in excellent+++ condition with a few scuffs here and there, all minor. A bit of darkness on the front belt loop and around the sharpener tube, rather typical of a sheath this age. The Johnson shop stamp is on the back belt loop, the original EZ Lap sharpener had some tarnish / verdigris on it but cleaned up nicely. Johnson was making Sly II sheaths for Jimmy from the beginning, it and the early style compass help to date the knife.
9 photos for review -- as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. All said and done, this is an exceptionally nice long-bladed Sly II that has never been used, one that has obviously been tucked away most all it's life. This is very fair price on a Sly II in this condition – AZCK has one for sale that's in about the same condition with a later sheath, theirs is $2600! Thanks and good luck.
