Summary: tucked away for the better part of 12 years, this is a trout knife Jim made back in 2008. Jim signed the guard with an engraver, also dated the back side. (see photos) Paired with the original “era” sheath (back when Jack Mosher was doing leather for Jim and James), quite the collectible pairing.

Specs: 3-3/4” 01 tool steel blade, signed and dated brass guard, fiber/metal/leather spacer stack and very pretty pinned crown stag butt. Easily near mint, maybe a fingerprint or two on the guard but I’ll take care of that before shipping. The tooled Mosher sheath looks brand new but for a bit of verdigris on the back sides of the rivets. Mosher stamp on the back, knife / sheath fit is perfect.

9 photos for review – as shown, a new black canvas carry case is included. This is a sweet little knife, one you can use a few years and still get your money out of due to the signed and engraved guard. Stay safe but positive, rest assured the most brilliant minds in the world are working on this COVID-19 virus and we’ll all get through it sooner than later. Thanks and good luck.
