Description

Summary: I had one of those “what the heck??” moments when I saw this S stamped cleaver but then immediately thought of about five different things I could use it for. Anyway, I’ve seen a handful of Jim Behring cleavers over the years, this and one other already sold are the first two made with the AEB-L stainless steel. It’s way cool, way functional... and way easy to carry.

From Jim: “the AEB-L stainless steel knives are all the first ever in 22 years and made in limited numbers. Old school German straight razor steel I will use on my Chefs Knives. They are a pain in the ass to make and the heat treat alone take a few days along with the cyro dry ice alcohol 24 hour quench. The AEBL knives are all around .090 to .100 thick. They are amazing cutters and do not rust or stain ever.”

The blade is right at 4” front to guard, overall length is 8-3/4”. Great stag, finished with a musk ox butt cap. Mint condition.

They made the custom slip sheath right there at the shop and fronted it hide. All stitched, no rivets. The cleaver / slip sheath fit is perfect and the sheath is in mint condition.

5 photos for review – I’ll pack it carefully in a carry case (not shown) and include a Treeman sticker. This is a really neat, custom piece.. one of the first two SS cleavers made by Jim. As an investment for your collection.. you can’t lose. If you’re buying it to use... you can’t lose. Get the picture? You can’t lose!! Chop chop!! Thanks and good luck.
